Boudicca's Revolt

Boudicca was a queen of a British tribe called the Iceni who (1)…………… (rebel) against the Romans. Prasutagas, her husband, before he (2)…………….(die), he (3) …………… (resolve) to assign half of his property to the Romans. The Roman emperor (4) …………… (interpret) his will as a submission. Because of the fact that Boudicca protested, the Romans (5) ……………(flog) her and (6) ……………(rape)  her daughters. As a result, she wanted to avenge herself on them for what they (7) ……………(do) and she gathered the Iceni and other neighbouring tribes against Roman rule. Boudicca (8) ……………(resolve) to strike at symbols, so she burnt the capital at Colchester and London. The Roman commander (9) ……………(decide) to sacrifice London, so when Boudicca's troops arrived, they (10) ……………(butcher) all Romans and (11) ……………(raze) the town to the ground. She wasn’t gentle and she treated her enemies fiercely. Roman soldiers were often so frightened that one legion refused to fight with Baudicca’s troops. Eventually, she (12) ……………(bring) to bay by smaller roman forces. Her troops were charging the long lines of Roman soldiers but it seemed that they couldn’t (13) ……………(break) through their line. The battle turned against her. Now her soldiers were being cut down and it was impossible to beat the Romans. Boudicca (14) ……………(not/ want) to be captured and she took poison. In the upshot, after Boudicca died, Iceani territory was put under military rule and a great part of this territory (15) ……………(ravage). Boudicca (16) ……………(remain) an important cultural symbol since then and she (17) ……………(be) the subject of two films. What is more, she seems to be the first national hero of Britain. She (18) ……………(be) not only a mother who had to experience rape of her daughters and of herself but a woman who wished to see her people free as well.   1. Takie zadania miałem gdy uczyłem się języka angielskiego bardzo intensywnie i dziś już po prostu go znam. Za to teraz wprowadzam dzieci w ten język obcy i dzięki wierszykom https://www.jezykiobce.pl/s/46/wierszyki-dla-dzieci-po-angielsku widzę, że coraz bardziej im się to podoba.
